Happy Memorial Day!?
I know having Memorial Day off is great. Who doesn't love a 3 day weekend?! But PLEASE try and remember what this day was made up for.
Our men and women out there, present and past, are making or have made tremendous sacrifices on behalf of the United States. We live in a free country because of them. Whether we agree with the causes or not, they fight for me and for you. They die for me and for you. Because in case you have forgotten, freedom isn't free.
So have a happy Memorial Day, and say a prayer for the families who have lost loved ones....for me and for you. For us. Lest we NEVER forget!

Why a put a question mark beside happy Memorial Day is because I wonder if Memorial Day is really happy. It's to remember our military folks, past and present, alive and dead. Need I say more?

That is exactly why I presented the "Happy Memorial Day" headline as a question. Because for the families of our dead personnel, this day is a sad one. Not happy. Not really. Except for some of the memories the families are left with.
But Memorial Day is not just for the military folks who have died. It is also to honor our living military personnel. Memorial Day is meant to honor our military people, past and present, as I mentioned in my statement above.

Many people tend to forget the soldiers on this day, being it a 3-day weekend for most. The bbq light up, families visit beaches, and the shopping sales. Without these soldiers fighting and dying for our freedom will might not even be alive to do any of this stuff. Happy Memorial Day everyone.

"Happy Memorial Day" is a misnomer.
This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who died in military service for their country.
Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials.
Some Americans use Memorial Day weekend to also honor family members who have passed away.
None of the above Give cause to be "happy"
It is a sad and solemn day, for sure.
