Sure. Do you have $1500 for gastrointestinal surgery and the hospitalization he will need afterward? If so, feed away. If not, think again. On second thought, just think again. I have spent hours removing bone shards from dog intestines, and it is not pretty. But if you want to give the money to your vet, go ahead.

NEVER give you dog any kind of cooked bones. They may splinter, but you also run the risk of an intestinal blockage. As far as raw ones, don't do that either unless you have done an in-depth study of the BARF diet (Bones And Raw Food)

it is not safe to give any dog any type of bone. my vet told me not to even give my dogs the rawhide bones. he said that he has had to remove several bones and rawhide bones from the intestines of even large breed dogs like a st. bernard. to be on the safe side just don't give your little dog any bones.

NO BONES unless you want to risk problems of splintering and causing your dog problems.

Raw bones are fine, but no cooked bones, they'll splinter and really cause problems.

I personally would not give my dogs any type of bone unless they are sold specifically for dogs. It's not worth it if it can cause any injury to my dogs.
