Help for fungus on my big toenail? I have beautiful sandals and can't wear them!?
About 2 years ago I developed fungus on my big toenail! The whole nail peeled off and won't grow back! Now that it's sandal weather, I'm embarressed! I bought some of the glue-on-toenails and it worked, until it popped off and took the rest of the nail with it and now it has nothing to stick to at all! I have a prescription for Lamisil, but can't afford it, even with insurance. Anyway to rid my nail of fungus when it's this far gone????? I've tried just about everything over the counter! It's gross! HELP!

I learned the formula below for removing nail fungus from a sports doctor in the Far East. He had many athletes with fungal problems, and said that nail fungus was easy to cure (with steps 1 & 2). The problem was keeping the fungus from returning (step 3 took care of that). I would appreciate it if you e-mail me some time from now to tell me of your experience with it.
1. 1 pt. hydrogen peroxide : 1 pt. vinegar
Soak nail for 1 minute twice daily.
2. 1 pt. bleach : 4 pts. water
Soak nail for 30 seconds twice daily, after completing step 1.
3. 1 pt. Tea Tree oil : 1 pt. Vaseline
Apply mixture after nail is dry after step 2; then cover with Band-Aid. If mixture wears off, reapply and cover with Band-Aid again. The addition of Vaseline to the Tea Tree oil will keep the oil on for a long period of time; without the Vaseline, the oil is absorbed, making you have to apply the the oil every 15 minutes or so.
Step 1 & 2 should kill the fungus in a couple of days, but continue for a whole week to be extra certain. Continue step 3 until your nail grows out completely, which takes some time.

I would recomend pure listerine soak or diluted iodine soaks daily Sounds weird but these two may work. Toenail fungus does suck! My bigtoe has it and I know how you feel.
Penelac is a precript topical polish that is clear in color and much cheaper. I think it is 80 dollars for a dinky bottle but it goes along way

That's disgusting. go to a docter or a pedicure person and get a fake one put on. but on the other hand, they would have to scrape it off or use a lazer to remove it and they would probably puke. so think of something quick. if you can't return the sandals and buy your self some cute tennis shoes or Crocks.(I hear those are in now.)

Put a band-aid around it. They are flesh colored...wont be so noticeable.
