Do you all really think that we are the only beings in the universe?

The universe is very old and will continue to exist billions of years after we will expire.

The question is not "do other intelligent beings exist?", the question is "when will/did they exist?"

i don't think we alone i mean God did not only make earth he made billions of other planets probably tons outside of our soalr system so why would god only put living beings on only one planet out of a billion others. There are certianly other life forms but i don't think they are the UFo aliens people talk about, i have no idea what they look like but mabey when god comes we'll get to stop on the way and say hello to these other creatures. Remeber we are the only sinful creatures that God has created so mabey there are other perfect creatures out there as well....

Heck no. each star in the universe has a planetary system and if only one planet in all of these systems had a planet that could support life there would be a lot of other life out there.

NO!!! Somewhere in this very large universe, there are beings, maybe like us who maybe just starting out or more advanced then us and then there are planets out there that be heaven that is being talked about on earth and is, as we speak, populated by spirits and nothing else.

thoven's answer, and lots of other answeres here, are far-fetched and very hard to believe. we are on a planet that has the perfect living conditions. so perfect that these conditions could not exist anywhere else. and as for life forms that could live in 1000 degrees, -500 degree (or whatever is the coldest possible), or atmospheres that contain different gases, they are in the minds of fiction-writers and nowhere else.

No way, the universe is way to big to even consider the Earth being the only populated planet out there.

Actually, with so many planets, solar systems and galaxies, science and mathematics would say statistically there has to be other life in the universe?

Scientists think all the maybes you do. Maybe not even carbon-based life form. There are some crazy creatures here to prove the tenacity of life.

The universe is infinitely large. If we are the only intelligent beings in the universe, that would be an awful waste of space, don't you think?

And if there are other intelligent beings out there, wouldn't it be interesting to discover what their religious/spiritual beliefs are, if any? =)
