What do you think about Clemens' return to Houston?

Love the Rocket! THE best pitcher of my lifetime (1973-Present). If he would have started in Spring Training, he'd be out of gas by playoff time. He's an old dude. I have no problem with him waiting until now to come back. Altough I didn't like the "maybe I'll come back, maybe I won't" business. We all knew he was coming back. The Stros made a great comeback in the second half of last season, and are set to do it again this year.

But I did love watching my Buccos take 2 of 3 from them last weekend. They got lucky on Sunday with the comeback from 4 down in the 9th. That 18 inning game on Sat. night was one of the best I've ever seen.

I think he is a self-serving, king of drama who is a sample of the modern day athlete who has no loyalty but to himself. Roger has always been in adoration of the almighty dollar.

Baseball itself is to blame for what is transpiring right now. A prima donna has been allowed to hold up his decision to "return" to baseball after not one but TWO retirements. Several teams were involved including the Boston Red Sox. I said before, and I say it again. Thank god he is not returning to Boston. He's just NOT the kind of person who would fit on the great team we have now. With his attitude, he would be poison as he will be to the Houston team

Why can't people like him and Brett Favre go peacefully into the night and leave their accomplishments in tact. Favre was pretty bad last year, and this year does not bode well for him or the Packers either. Houston will not even make the playoffs with or without Clemens who will most likely have a mediocre year.

I doesnt matter if Clemens Joins the Astros or not. The Cardinals are going to win that division and Advance in the Playoffs. Houston will not even make the wild card behind the mets, braves, rockies, reds, and dodgers. Rocket or no Rocket, houston will be watching baseball from texas in october.

I think you guys are paying way too much. And I think if he cared about the Houston Astros and trying to win a championship, he'd have come back during spring training and worked from start to finish. I think you guys got beat.

I think he is a good pitcher, but I don't like the deal he was asking for. I think he shoudl be at the ballpark for more than just the days he pitches.

Its just a temp fix for Houston and yes he is overpaid. I'd trade places with him for a cash myself.

did you hear about the steroid accusation about him. that he is returning only because he was serving a 50 day suspension for steroids. of course its most likley untrue, but still makes you think. btw go giants :)

Well, all I can say is that the LAstros need all the help they can get right now!!!!
