What type of guns or rifles do you own?

I am a week away from getting my CHL & just purchased a Ruger .357 revolver. It's my first - my cherry has been popped.

While I don't discuss whether or not I have any other weapon than a Peacemaker, I wouldn't carry under a 9mm Luger, But I prefer the .45 ACP round, because if I would ever have to drop a bad guy or a mountain lion I want them to stay down. That being said I would think the .357 mag would do about the same, since I've never compared the ballistics

Rifles: Remington 700 BDL (30.06); Ruger No. 1 (.270); (2) Rem. Nylon 66 (.22LR); Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle (.223). Shotguns: Mossberg bolt-action (.410); Remington 1100 (20 ga.); 1948 Browning A-5 (12 ga.); 1970 Browning A-5 (12 ga.) ; 1977 Browning A-5 (12 ga.). Handguns: Smith $ Wesson .44 Mag. w/ scope in stainless; Colt M1911 (.45 ACP); H&R 686 w/ 12" barrel & 2 cylinders (.22LR & .22WRFM); Browning Buckmark (.22). My favorite is the Colt. A clapped out military veteran from a Navy practice range in S.C. Rescued from the scrap heap by a friend of mine (Gunner's Mate 1st Class) when he got out of the Navy. He gave it to me for my birthday in 1985. I showed it to my fiancee's father who is an accomplished gunsmith. He completely refurbished the gun: new barrel, new springs, new grips(Pachmayr), new sear (when he first test-fired the weapon before starting work, he said it popped off 3 rounds at one trigger squeeze) and gave it to me for my birthday. These guns have a reputation for inaccuracy, but mine will shoot a 3" group at 30 meters standing position.

I am mainly a black powder man myself. I own an 1861 springfield rifle-musket, Colt "walker" .44 pistol. colt 1851 .44 pistol. several Kentucky long rifles. a Henry lever action repeating rifle. I also own a Brown Bess musket. One thing I do find is that to picke off soda cans at 200 yards you dont need a scope with my 1861 springfield, just goes to show you that its not your equipment its your skill.

I own numerous rifles and shotguns, but my favorite would have to be my Remington .300 Win Mag.
