Why when it's getting ready to rain do leaves on a Maple tree turn and not on an Oak?

    Sometimes leaves turn up as a result of the updrafts that preceed a rain. Maybe maple leaves catch more wind.

    maple leaves are larger and catch the wind flow as do poplars.

    some experts believe that the tree absorbs moisture better from the underside of the leaf.

    My guess is that they are two different species, with different ways of adapting and obtaining its needs for survival.
