Despite his recent miss, Lampard is your best bet - he takes penalties for Chelsea, and has the most even temperament. Beckham will never recover from his miss at Euro 2004; Gerrard stopped taking penalties for Liverpool after so many misses; Owen is probably your second best bet after Lampard though. Crouch showed he does not have the killer instinct with his last miss...and well, no one else really is the leader who can step up. So #1 Lampard. #2 Owen. If Rooney is fit, he is your #2 man.

Sven has already chosen his penlties takers should he need them. He chose:
Frank Lampard,
David Beckham,
Michael Owen
and Stevie Gerrard as his first four, then
Ashley Cole, Owen Hargreaves or John Terry.
Not a bad choice if you ask me! As long as he doesn't go for Crouch we should be fine! Sven even said he hadn't picked Crouch as a penalty taker but he got "caught in the moment" on Saturday and allowed Crouch to take it.

It doesn't really matter because if a player misses a penalty,at this level,he should be dropped and if a game is decided by penalties, the losing team has no argument because they should have played better and scored goals during normal play.
