I don't think they're ever going to explain the meaning behind the numbers. I don't see any way they could explain them. They'll probably just leave them as a mystery or suggest that everything involving the numbers is entirely coincidental, just like the meetings between characters before the plane crash.

These numbers are basically a stupid inside joke, the meaning of which has no practical relevance outside a dumb nighttime soap opera that girls make their boyfriends watch.

I think they are all already dead and waiting to cross over. Those are the numbers of the main characters , the order they cross over in.
