Can I opt out of having food & vitamins scanned as well as my body when flying?
I am trying to avoid any radiation I can, for a number of reasons. I am diabetic and would like to pack vitamins and special foods for an upcoming trip, but fear the radiation will make them more dangerous than good for me. Please, no sermons on how the levels are safe, I don't believe ANY level is safe. I just want to opt out of having my nutrients (which are my medicine)scanned and left alone. Can I do that? Is it allowed?

1 AnswerTVs1 decade agoWhat is the best sewing machine that about $2000 will buy?
I'd like to put together quilts, do some machine applique, maybe even do some quilting on the machine. Some embroidery apps would be nice too. I've been out of the loop for so long that I don't know what is the best anymore. I have an old Bernina that's great for general sewing but I want something more updated.
4 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoIs there a water filter available that is so good that it would make our well water usable again?
Our shallow well developed a black bacteria a couple years ago that is supposedly harmless but it smells like rotten eggs, turns our tub orange, and spits up black dirt off and on. We may have to dig a deeper well, but I was hoping there is a super duper water filter that could just make the water we have ok to use. anybody know?
3 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoMy Canon PowerShot S2 IS digital camera got the dreaded "Black Screen" & Canon wants $175 to fix it.?
Something new that is comparable is about $100 more. Would I be wasting my money fixing the old one, given that this seems to be a fairly common problem with this camera? Any suggestions for a good replacement camera. I loved that camera until it died suddenly.

4 AnswersCameras1 decade agoMelanine mixing bowls, I have a set of them and am wondering if they are safe?
I've been hearing that melanine isn't safe, in toys, etc. so it seems to me they wouldn't be safe for mixing food that we eat. Does anyone know?
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care1 decade agoMy 14 year old big dog has developed a limp in a hind leg. What can I do to ease her pain in her old age?
She is a Great Pyrenees, Australian Shepard cross, and has been an active dog all of her life. Are we close to losing her? I started giving her a couple of aspirin twice a day and that maybe helped slightly. Anything else I can do?
17 AnswersDogs1 decade agoGlucophage, how long does it take to be fully effective?
I was diagnosed just last week and my numbers were coming down steadily for days and then suddenly rose about 50 points. Diet and exercise were good but had extreme stress the day before it went up so bad. Does it just take time to come down and stay down?
2 AnswersDiabetes1 decade agoDiabetic supplies, is there a place I can get them free?
Or at least at greatly reduced prices? I've just been diagnosed and the timing couldn't be worse, my husband is being laid off work this week, and we have no health insurance.
8 AnswersDiabetes1 decade agoWhere, specifically does one apply estrogen to the body?
I've read about soft, thin, skin areas. I want to know specifically which areas these are. Is it the underside of the forearm? The vaginal area? Anyplace else?
1 AnswerWomen's Health1 decade agoName our new mule?
He arrived just yesterday and we're looking to name him. He is very big for a mule, he must have some buckskin in him and he has black legs. Almost looks like a burnt matchstick on his legs. He is so beautiful but we're stumped for a name.
13 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade agoWhat happened to Johnny Abrams, the really cute DJ on the Ellen Show?
I love Ellen, but Johnny was the best part of the show, and he is not on with the new season. I hope he has gone on to bigger things. I would like to know what, and where, so I can look for him. Anyone else think he is irresistable?
5 AnswersTalk Shows1 decade agoSocial Security Disability. I'm beginning the process of applying for it.?
Any tips on jumping through their hoops? I've heard they automatically deny the first application. Truth or fiction? I am very close to actual retirement age, will that help get me through?
3 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade agoWhy do my insect bites (mosquitos and wasp) swell up more at night and itch more at night?
An example would be the wasp sting I got a few days ago. The swelling and itching are way down in the daytime but flare up as evening approaches. Itch cream barely takes the annoyance away. My only relief is an ice pack. And then in the morning and throughout the day it feels like it is actually going away. And then again as night falls, the swelling and intense itching reappear.
Mosquito bites do the same thing with me. Is this normal?
6 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoIs a chiropractors opinion on permanent injuries worth anything in a lawsuit?
My chiropractor would like to help me but has been assured by another chiropractor that her opinion might even hurt my case because she is not an MD. I do have an orthopedic doctor that will stand up for me, but it seems to me that my chiropractors opinion could do nothing but help. Why aren't chiropractors more respected? Mine has helped me manage my pain and heal injuries that no one else could or would touch.
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoHELP! I have a reoccurring vaginal rash. Did the yeast infection cure.?
The steroid cream that one dr gave me for contact dermititus isn't as effective as it once was. I first had this 3 years ago. Have seen 4 doctors over this. Has any one else had these symptoms? Swollen, crusty outer vagina. Itchy inner vagina and out. Sometimes bleeding. The Monistat helped some but caused bleeding. It is a very depressing situation, kind of hopeless and physically miserable. Please no wisecrackers, this is serious to me.
