Diabetic supplies, is there a place I can get them free?
Or at least at greatly reduced prices? I've just been diagnosed and the timing couldn't be worse, my husband is being laid off work this week, and we have no health insurance.

You doctor/hospital can give you free samples of all sorts of stuff. We called MiniMed or Paridigm (I cant remember which) when we were struggling to pay for everything and they sent us free samples of pump supplies within a few days. The doctors office can give you supplies for free (like a week or two or three worth) immediately.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.
And get this - it has NOTHING to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past.
It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.
I read this interesting book https://tr.im/teAbt that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.

Diabetics can eat anything a non-diabetic can eat. You just have to make an adjustment for carbs/sugars. Learn here https://tr.im/n8mVb
It is better for diabetics to eat slow burning carbs: potatoes, peanut butter, vegetables, breads, dairy products, etc. VS. fast burning carbs: candy, sugared soda, cakes, ice cream, anything high in sugar. Just know what your carb/insulin ratios (how much insulin you have to give yourself for the amount of carbs you are intaking) are. Adjust according to the amount of carbs(sugars) you are intaking. And, you should be fine. Natural sugars are better than processed sugars.
