Anyone know the towing capacity of a 1989 GMC 2500?

Trying to figure out the max. trailer weight that can be towed. Can't find it on the web. Thanks!

Update:

Using a ball in the receiver, not a 5th wheel or gooseneck.

Update 2:

5.7 L with a 5 speed manual.

    There is a GVWR sticker on the door driver side and manual will state weight max and toung weight but its fine for what your pulling, three quarter ton floating axles 8 lug heavey duty ,it can tow just about anything you buy for it

    Do you have the owners manual? IT should be in the book under towing capacity. If not, go for a road test in a new 2500, and get your info from a new vehicle, then tell your salesman this isn't what your looking for. The tow capacity should be similar, if you have a similar engine size!!! A 2500 series GMC is a three quarter ton vehicle to begin with. AUTO TECH!!
