I'm a designer. Never made a web site. How do I start?

Someone told me to use Sea Monkey. but I'm not sure how exactly to use it. If you know of any online free tutorials, they would be appriciated.

Update:

Yes, I'm a designer and a teacher.

A good designer needs to know XHTML and CSS to implement his design ideas on the Web. There are many tools and technologies that can help you see how it's going to look before you publish the site, such as Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Visual Web Designer, etc. But I strongly recommend learning XHTML and CSS first.

Personally find flash the easiest and www.flashkit.com has 1000's of turtorial and free opensource files that you can edit and change and play with and work out how it works. Lots of help and advise and it is quick and code is not neccaerry but even if you need to it is easy and has lots and lots of help etc. I learnt it in a week and am now employed by a company as a website designer. Html is great but coding would not be my first step (even though it was) start with a WYSIWUG editor like dreamweaver (not frontpage under any circumstances), and learn the code as you go. Hope it help

I think you have creative mind it is very helpfully. But you design a web page you have to know about HTML.

    Ex: <HTML>

    </HTML> those are coled Tags

But you dint worry about HTML if you can install Dream Viewer you can earsly learn HTML. if you know flash and photo shop added advantage for you.
