Does anyone know why Edy Adu & Lee Nguyen aren't in the line up in US national soccer team ?

Perhaps with stars like these 2 young raising talents, the US national team may do better in the upcoming World Cup matches. What do you think ?

Update:

Correction: The first name is Freddy. Freddy Adu, not Edy.

I think it's a question of experience. Do you field a squad of young talent or a squad of more experienced players? It's a tough question. I haven't followed Nguyen's career too closely but Adu hasn't exactly lived up to the hype. He is a good player and he will undoubtledly be on our next WC squad but is he the great player everyone said he would be? I haven't seen it yet.

And to be honest, I doubt that the addition of those two players would have helped that much in our first match. The whole team played rather poorly. You can have the greatest striker in the world on your team but if you can't get the ball to him what does it matter?

Freddy Adu hasn't proven himself, that's all

He is, well used to be at least, just a procuct of high expectations and buzz. There is no one player that will save the US team. Adu is not Maradona, there are no Maradona's anymore. I do not know one player who can singlehandely bring his team to victory. Ronaldinho and regular/mediocre players would not have won the Champion's league or Primera title like Maradona did (Serie A twice and UEFA Cup) with Napoli.

Adu is still young and learning. He'll surely be there in 2010.

    ciao

Adu is like 17, and there are people that won't be playing next world cup, so they're letting the old guys play.

they are both far too young and inexperienced( in my opion adu is quite overrated as well, but heck he's still just a kid)

Adu hasnt proven himself!!!!!! Is this guy serious?

    Inexperienced and overhyped.

Time will tell if they mature to be great players.
