You need to install the wireless router software useing a wired connection. Then you can set up the router by going to the special website for the router and follow the instructions.

For driver down load click here:

    http://support.dlink.com/downloads/

Visit this web site to set up your router and set up you wireless security encription password.

First of all, connect a standard computer to the router to see if they can access the Internet through the router. That will make sure your router is setup half way correct. Second, when first starting out, make sure your WEP is not enabled. That means anybody will be able to join your network wirelessly. This is only for the time being to make sure your lap top can pick up the network. Third, make sure you are like a few feet from the router for the strongest signal possible.

Let us know if you can get that going. (this problem goes a bit passed a simple question, this is a full blown technical support issue. So we will have to solve in multiple stages)

ok, i really dont know how you got your wireless setup im gonna start from the start

you first name the ssid say "snotforyou"

then you choose weither you want it encrypted or not if so chose your type of incription and place a password if its wep remember to change the type from open the shared so its secured.

if you no then just leave it and open and disable the encription

this is from the router side.

from the computer side go to microsoft's wirless properity window there click on the network refresh list if that doesnt appear then got back to the router and unplug, wait 10 sec and plug it again , refresh again and see if it appears make sure you have the channel set right though and the same for the computer

also make sure you have the router to send out for wirless cards freq. 802.11g and 802.10

You have probably already done this but did you log onto the router and make sure that the wireless connection is enabled, I do believe by default it is disabled, also makes sure that you name the SSID and it is set to broadcast as this is the name of the wireless connection. If everything is enabled and your laptop is configured to see access points then just possibly you might have a defective wireless router.

Your computer's wireless card is probably setup as ad-hoc (computer to computer) try changing it to Access Point by going to Control panel > Double click network connections > right click on wireless network connections and choose properties > click on the wireless network tab > then advance (at the bottom) > then select "Any available networks (Access Point preferred). Hope this helps.
