Does anyone out there actually watch infomercials?

I mean really, so many of us channel surf through the 5min or less commercials. Why would anyone watch one that is 30min to 1 hour long? No one I know bothers with them, yet companies keep paying to broadcast them, so somebody must watch them. I'm just curious. The numbers just don't seem to add up. Or maybe I just know all the wrong people. Do you watch infomercials and paid programming?

When I need a good laugh, I do watch infomercials. They are so entertaining! There was this one for a vacuum thing and it could suck up all the Froot Loops on the floor that just conveniently happened to fall in a straight line. Also, it could clean your toilet. And the most amazing part was it had suction so powerful it could move your refrigerator. That was probably the best infomercial ever. Anyways they are just pretty funny. And so fake. You can tell they don't have that much money to work with. Oh well.

My question is, why do they always have an announcement right before the infomercial that says, "The following does not represent any views of this station.?" Well, there must some views the station agrees with. Maybe $$$$. Most people can agree on that.

The only reason why I find myself watching informercials is to get a good laugh at watching the actual person/persons selling the stuff. I also have a hard time sleeping at night and infomercials does the trick!!

I couldn't sleep last week and ended up watching an infomercial for "Disco Hits". It was actually kind of cool. I got to hear some funky music I hadn't heard since I was a kid! The big drawback was the fact that Barry Whatsisname (Greg from the Brady Bunch) was one of the pitchmen. Sort of grossed me out that he has lowered himself to the info-world.

The only one that I watched and bought something from was from a company call Beachbody. I bought the Slim n 6 collection. And it works well. Most others I don't bother with.

I think the same people watch it that actually buy the Enquirer, rather than glancing thru it while waiting at the checkouts. I sometimes like to watch the audience act goofy and go oooooh ..and clap They get paid money to be audience. My friend did it for easy money. I think it was like $50 ( but this was in the 80's)

Yes, I have in the past. It's all so hammy and false and humourless and I have never ever bought anything from them. After watching about three or four of them, the next time one simply switches to another channel never to be watched again.

I do sometimes, especially late at night when I can't sleep. They're funny! No one actually BUYS anything from them, do they? Some of the things are so freakin ridiculous. Like that new pasta maker thing. It claims to make life sooo much easier. Uh, HELLO? You still have to boil the water in a seperate pot!!!
