  • Does anyone out there actually watch infomercials?

I mean really, so many of us channel surf through the 5min or less commercials. Why would anyone watch one that is 30min to 1 hour long? No one I know bothers with them, yet companies keep paying to broadcast them, so somebody must watch them. I'm just curious. The numbers just don't seem to add up. Or maybe I just know all the wrong people. Do you watch infomercials and paid programming?

  • Calling all British citizens! Can you tell me?

I saw a commercial today that gave the trivia fact that in British legislature, the House Speaker is not allowed to speak. I hesitate to believe anything I hear on a commercial, so I need to know if this is really fact or just a lot of bull being fed to an uneducated US audience. So, is the House Speaker allowed to speak in the legislature?

  • Is anyone else insulted by these commercials?

Commercials in general are insulting to my intelligence. But today I am targeting car insurance commercials specifically. These commercials by Geico, Progressive and AIG talk about how much money you can save, but say nothing about the services they provide. The commercials by Allstate and State Farm, on the other hand, talk about only their services (which is far more important by my reckoning). The worst one is the one by Geico that says "People trust advertising icons" as if we are so stupid that we believe anything a cartoon character tells us. Who else is insulted by that?

  • Ten points for best imagination?

Okay folks. Time to show a little imagination. I already know the real reason fireflies glow. I want you folks to come up with the most original fictional story explaining the bugs' shiny butts. The CLEANEST story with the best imagination gets the 10 points. Create your own myth!

  • Why do we give them the satisfaction?

People abuse this valuable resource to ask vulgar, racist, anti-religious, and generally insulting questions for no other reason than to get an angry reaction from people. They enjoy the angry responses and laugh about it. The indignant words have no effect on them morally. Why do people insist on answering these questions and satifying the sick amusement of these sickos? Why don't we just report them and not respond to them? Or am I being to logical?

  • What is your opinion of Rhubarb?

Personally, I love it. Fresh dipped in sugar, in a sauce or, best of all, as a piece of pie fresh out of the fridge! How about you folks?

  • Why do people start smoking?

Why, when all of the reasons not to smoke and the danger to one's health caused by smoking, are people so foolish as to start smoking anyway (my brother and cousin are classic examples)

  • What do you do for a dog that has constapation?

My dog is a Shiba Inu, male, about 20lbs and 1yr old. He frequently has trouble passing his bowels. He has fresh water available to him 24 hours a day, he gets both dry and moist food every day, and I give him unsalted peanuts as a treat. Anyone know what I can do?
