How can I earn more money and have the lifestyle I want?
I work in retail and I love it, but there is not much room for mega buck growth. What can I do to increase my income without working a second job, part time?

Start online with your own website. You can work it in your spare time and watch it grow. I found this site and they have some great ebooks on various ways that will help you. Main thing is decide, and act. Don't just say you want to make or do....do it.

Some ideas:
1. Look for career opportunities within your company. Someone runs the biz. It could be you. If your store doesn't have good growth potential, find another. Some pay well. A few retailers known for better pay include Nordstrom, Home Depot and Costco. I was in the grocery biz in a union area and was paid very well so find out if that exists in your area.
2. The shop owner, if they are a good businessperson, makes a lot more than his staff does.
3. You need to be SAVING money each month to INVEST. If everything you have goes out right away, or worse yet, you run up a lot of credit card debt, you will always be BEHIND, and never TRULY have a solid lifestyle and security. So... you need to start investing. That way your money is working for you.
I have seen people who have always had modest incomes, like military enlisted people and school teachers retire as millionnaires and it is actually pretty easy to do if you follow these rules:
1. Never live beyond your means (paycheck).
2. Stay out of debt except maybe a mortgage.
3. Pay yourself first (this refers back to investing), and do it every single month.
Yeah, it doesn't give you an instant boost in lifestyle but it really works. Too many Americans live beyond what they can afford and are not saving.

You could consider a home business. By starting one you will be building an income which is residual. There is no limit on your earnings as you are paid by the amount of work you put into it. There are no get-rich-quick programs out there, all require dedication and persistence, but that said, you can earn a very lucrative part time income or full time if you choose!
You can also have a lot of fun doing it....I do!

working in retail sales can make you lots of money if you are a good sales person and working for the right company
and with any large company there is always room for growth
many companies like to promote from within - find out about management positions (not just store level but regional) and find out about qualifications - maybe you should take some business management classes (often employers will help pay for courses because it helps with things like company loyalty)

You should think about going back to school. Maybe start with a class or two, start slowly. Knowledge is power. the better education you have, more options open up. with limited education your job options are fewer, and lower paying jobs are what you'd be limited to.
