If there was a topic for atheism at this site, what would they discuss?

I mean without bringing up religions, that they don't believe in. Or Souls, that they deny. Or love that they can't quantify. Or sin, that they've never seen, or done.

Update:

frolic? what is this frolic?

That's why there isn't one. We just care enough about each other to know and realize that we all really don't care or wanna talk about it. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to frolic, naked, around a bonfire, in a forest.

I am sorry to burst your bubble, but even athiests love.

Is there nothing left in this world except religion? Don't people discuss philosophy, art, literature or even sports? Ahh, but you want to know what athiests talk about AS athiests, and yet say they can not bring up religion... That's something of a Catch 22. You want a topic based on religious belief, that is not allowed to discuss anything remotely religious. Well then, perhaps they would discuss science. Since most athiests I know believe the world is rational and scientific, I'm assuming that once you eliminate all religion, science and logic are all that remain.

Many boards I've seen though do end up discussing religion. They do this for a simple reason. Fundies. When a fundamentalist ATTACKS someone for having a different belief, it can be helpful to know what the beliefs of various religions are and what they are based on. For an example of a board run by athiests, look at www.evilbible.com.

Lady D answered well. But I'd say that, without bringing up religion, atheists would talk about the effect that *believers* have on them.

I think the basis of your question has some real merit. That is, if no believer (theist) ever tried to:

    - proselytize their religion,

    - condemn, jyhad, or inquisition those not of their religion,

    - pass laws based on their religion's values,

    - dictate what was to be considered science,

    - or push through amendments based on their religion,

then the word "atheist" may very well have never been invented.

In society where folks have a complete live and let live attitude towards spiritual belief, there would be no topics to hash out, as there would be no conflict to resolve.

Religion AND Spirituality is the name of this site. They are not the same thing, or they would not be listed as two different things, would they?

Everyone has a spiritual nature. Everyone loves, feels the effects of beauty, is filled with awe at the vastness of the universe and the delicacy of a flower. That is spiritual, not religious.

Religion merely is a way of explaining the relationship of a person with the beauty and wonder of it all.

Atheists do not accept that there is a god out there running the show. They see the show, though, and can use this site to discuss it, ask questions about it, and answer questions, as well. This site is not the sole property of people of faith.

Who says atheism is not spiritual... this site is not only for the religious but also the atheists... It requires moral courage to be an atheist after all your mother conditioning and 10,000 years of preaching!

It does not mean you are not concerned about human condition, issues of morality, justice, peace and conscience and most importantly the history and evolution of a phenomenon called religion.

Human spirit or soul can be meaningful concepts for atheists too but probably at a much higher level of understanding...

Pray how do believers quantify love?? he he he!

Sin of course is your exclusive reserve and you can keep it!!!

They talk about every subject except God.

I find it ironic and funny that they're always in the Religion section, especially when they "don't believe in God".

So are you done demonizing atheists now?

Atheists don't believe in this God. That does not mean they don't believe in love or don't believe in right and wrong or don't believe in morals and ethics.

we as humans use words to articulate the usable, and even to banter over the appropriate methodology, but beyond that there are just topics and clarifications over the confusions, these are obvious enough for you to browse through yourself.

They would question why people believe in something they don't see and can't touch and are they (those who have faith) the foolish ones

They would talk about how the money just spent on the last mega church should have been spent on a hospital.
