Reward for Lost dog...how much?

I lost my dog overnight. I went online and registered him for free and I called the City Animal Pound and confirmed no Yorkshire Terriers were turned in. Within an hour the Pound called to say my dog was turned in. It's quite a drive to where these good people drove my dog to the pound and I learned they treated him royally over night. What is a good amount for a reward? $100.00?

Update:

I did think about whether it may offend so I thought I'd phrase it by asking if I may thank them with a reward?

Update 2:

The final result. I had asked the Pound to call the folks who found my Yorkie - who wasn't cheap and even if he was, he's worth the world to me, and give them my number so I can thank them - at which time I was going to offer my financial thanks. They did not call me so no reward! The dog and I are going out to brunch now...lol.

Actually the people probablly enjoyed taking care of your dog. A 100$ is a little high, since it wasn't a burden on them. I'd give them a 50$ gift certificate to a restaurant or something. Whatever you do, don't give them cash.

Did you offer a reward before your dog was turned in? No, well then don't worry about it, a simple thank you card will do the trick...maybe some cookies. People forgive the gesture of not getting money when they are given something silly like cookies...everyone loves cookies. And that way you are out only time and effort and there is no need to spend more money than you have already. Best wishes

One hundred dollars is quite a lot of money. That certainly is a good amonut. Like some of the others said, some people may not accept a reward, but if they do, you've given more than enough.

I'm glad that you got your dog back. Give him/her a kiss for us!

Yes, $100 is a generous amount, and like the others said, they may not even take your money. Happy for you that you have your dog back!

Yes, do offer the reward, and if they refuse just thank them graciously.

    $100 is the right amount.

However, remember the shelter will collect a fee as well, so if $100 would run you short. a bit less would be fine.

Oh my gosh. Wow thats great you found him. The people who found him may not accept the reward, but 100 dollars seems fine.

God is with you and your yorkie.

Anywhere from $20 to $50. Don't give more than you can afford.
