Winky and Taylor fight...?

Do you think that the draw called on the Winky / Taylor fight was a fair and correct call? Why? Do you think they should have a rematch?

I think everyone is scared of Winky cause the man has true talent he is the dream breaker he destroyed Mosley ( a good fighter) Trinidad (a ok fighter) .He was robbed when he beat Vargas and now Taylor I think he should move up and fight Joe Calzaghe cause its more money and I know he wont look like Lacy did after his fight with him. Oh to answer your ? Winky won and hell no it was not a fair call ,Rematch maybe be if he does fight him again I hope he knocks him the hell out so the judges cant get a draw from that

No, the draw was not fair. Winky landed more punches, a higher percentage of punches, controlled the pulse of the fight, parried most of Taylor's power punches, closed Taylor's left eye...in essence, he completely outclassed Taylor. No, I don't think an immediate rematch is in order. I think the judge who called the fight a draw should be challenged to pick a winner. I think the fight needs to be reviewed by a boxing commission. Taylor didn't beat Hopkins or Wright. He is still an amateur, skill wise.

Source(s): Punch stats as published in Las Vegas Sun: Taylor threw over 700, landed 160; Wright threw 650, landed close to 220...

Winky won by far! yes taylor hit him a few times hard, but in all Winky won in every stat count. because boxing is so lame and searching for good fights calling it a draw was smart to set up a rematch

winky wright was robbed!! for several reasons winky did not get his proper victory- the first is jermain taylor is a younger and up and coming superstar that boxing needs, second the fight was close to his hometown, and third the judge that went for taylor also went for taylor in the hoipkins fight. also winky fights a more technical defensive fight then taylor. many of taylors punches were blocked, winky had a higher percantage, landed more punches, taylor threw more punches but many did not land. you can tell who won a draw by fighters reactions-winky walked off the ring mad and disgusted-he said no rematch. taylor was happy and delughted to be able to keep his belts, it was a robbery.

Personally I think Winky won by two rouds but it was a good fight for both men. I can see where a draw was a fair decision. Winky Landed the cleaner punches and with higher connect percentage but certain judges favor aggression and who landed the harder punches. Winky did an excellent job of blocking most of Taylor's power punches and I felt he did enough to win despite his antics in the 12th round.

Personally I think Winky won the fight. But in coasting the last round, he did make the same mistake that De Lahoya made against Trinidad. I would like to see a rematch. Styles make fights and these two are a great pair in the ring.

I thought the fight was pretty close, i think winky and jermaine probably hit each other roughly the same amount of times, the only difference was taylors shots looked harder and did more damage. I did think the last round was going to explode and was very surprised when it sorta teetered out. Anyways to sum up, I thought taylor deserved to keep his title but neither deserved to lose, therefore i'll go along with the draw (even though I'm not a big fan of draws). A re-match would be sweet, but doubt it'll happen.

I think the judges were fair. Howard Letterman had it a draw himself. I think Taylor had the more effective punches and even by looking at each other's faces after the fight, Wright was worse off except for Taylor's eye which swelled due to an unintentional head but. I think that Wright had some bad decisions against him in the past -- like against Vargas -- and so he let frustration get the best of him here. He has done some questionable things lately like dropping his guard against Mosely and now storming off after a fight. I'm not sure he isn't going to do something stupid outside the ring soon, watch the headlines you heard it here first.

Taylor was lucky, I thought Winky did enough to win the fight. Possibly he could attack a bit more to get the judges onside. Dead certain rematch.

Th draw was fair Taylor got hit too much because he carries his left sooo low & Winky was fast enough to take advantage of it. I would like to see a rematch later but first I would like to see either one fight Calzaghe who looked Hopkinsish in his demolishon of 'Left Hook' Lacy.
