Defender John Paintsil, who plays for Hoepel Tel Aviv in Israel, whipped out an Israeli flag during the post game celebration of Ghana's 2-0 win over Czech Republic. He should not apologize. I think that he was also speaking for his two other teammates who play in Israel. I think that this was a fantastic gesture and it was great!

No one has a right to be offended by a player thanking his professional home.
The fact that you don't want said country to exist doesn't mean you should get all p.o.'ed about someone who makes a living their.
Right now I'm really ticked at Japan for getting the whaling ban overturned, but I'll still root for their team. It's not as if their soccer players are responsible for government decisions.
I wish everyone could separate sports from politics.
Alas, many can't let go of such things.

I don't know if the "entire" Arab world is in a twist or not over this incident, but he's free to wave whichever flag he likes and thank anyone he damn well likes. There's nothing wrong with what he did.
Sports and politics (or religion for that matter) shouldn't mix

I think it is fine. Its not like he chose a side to support or anything, just a thank you to to his supporters back home.
