  • What will Republicans say...?

When Democrats take the House and maybe the Senate?

Since it's been asked of Democrats a lot, I'd like to hear the same question answered by Republicans.

I would prefer legit answers and not insults from either side.

But I don't trust that will happen.

  • Why do people think they're being clever?

Does anyone really think using names like "demoncrat" or "repuglican" makes them look smart or funny?

  • Two weeks ago, did I say this?

"I will guarantee you this though. In one week to 10 days, the terror level will be raised to orange, and we'll be told that there is strong evidence of a threat against America. Rove can't resist that one.

I don't think it will work though."

    It's the last answer.

Does anyone else think that this "dirty bomb" threat is utterly bogus and is a desperate Rovian attempt to scare Americans into voting Republican?

  • I would like to invite a filmmaker from Cuba to submit a film for a festival. What are the laws?

Is it possible to get in trouble communicating with the filmmaker? I feel paranoid for asking, but I want to make sure.

  • Does anyone know why half the web seems to be down?

I can get Yahoo, Google, and a few others. But, my webpage, IMDB.com, IndyStar.com, WithoutABox.com, and many others are down.

    Anyone know why?

  • If Republicans are so good with money, support marriage, and leave no child behind, why these facts?

Here's the states with the highest divorce rates:

  • Why have illegal immigration reformers allowed racists into their ranks?

I know very well that not everyone who wants to fix the illegal immigration problem is racist. But, I see a lot of racists who are taking advantage of this issue to spread their hate-filled messages.

Sadly, I don't see reformers speaking out against those who use their issue to promote their racist agenda. I simply want to know why. It certainly doesn't help your cause to have such people standing by your side.

I have seen people raise the "racist" word too easily, but I have seen blatant racism as well. Why not speak up and condemn it?

  • Charles Barkley is no longer Republican?

I just happened across this. Had anyone else heard this quote?

Do you think other celebrity Republicans will leave?

What about Britney Spears? (Okay, that's a joke... Her own music videos are too deep for her, so I don't trust that she understands anything about politics)...

  • I know not all Conservatives are this dumb, but...?

Check out this blog (BEWARE: it has one of those pictures of a still-born baby that pro-lifers like to pretend is an aborted baby on it).

Anyway, this Conservative moron (and I know not all Conservatives are morons, so leave me alone on that one) gets all pissed off about an article in...The Onion.

    He thought it was real.

As I read somewhere..."Now we're going to have to cut their meat for them."

  • What about this great conservative?

Barry Goldwater was considered the father of the modern conservative movement. His work was considered vital to Ronald Reagan's election.

In later life, he went on to tick off conservatives by supporting equal rights for gays.

    A quote:

"The oldest philosophy in the world is conservatism, and I go clear back to the first Greeks. ... When you say 'radical right' today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party away from the Republican Party, and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye."

Will true conservatives like this ever return?

  • Why do John Skerry and vote_4 never respond to facts?

Of course, we know that both of them do nothing but hurl accusations when they ask questions, but when they receive responses that attempt to address their attempts at questions they thoroughly ignore legitimate responses.

Why do you think that is?

NOTE: This has nothing to do with legitimate conservatives who like a good debate and for whom I have respect.

  • How much have Americans saved thanks to tax cuts?

I just put this together (although I'm sure someone has thought of it before).

Using Atlanta MPA as a sample city, the average family makes $21,000 / year.(1) Therefore, Republican tax cuts save them $9 annually. (2).

The rise in gas prices will cost that same family $5772. (3) Thus a net savings of - $ 5763.

Is it any wonder that, despite good numbers, people aren't thrilled with the economy.

  • Ann Coulter: now a plagiarist?

The New York Post became the first print media to publish reports that three major segments of the book "Godless" were incidents of "textbook plagiarism" that would result in any college student flunking a class. The company iParadigms invented software that analyzes works and compares them to previously published works. Publications from which Ann Coulter lifted text include publications from Planned Parenthood, the Heritage Foundation, and the Los Angeles Times.

  • Why are these people so un-American?

"[The President] is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy."

"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal, and an exit strategy."

"I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory."

"Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years"

"My job as majority leader is be supportive of our troops, try to have input ... not to march in lock step with everything the president decides to do."

  • What is the plan?

Republicans keep asking what the Democratic plan is in Iraq. Other than "stay the course", what is Bush's plan?

No offense meant, but I fail to see any coherent plan taking place.

I am simply asking what Bush's actual strategy is.

  • What type of Republican will be nominated?

Will it be someone from the Bush camp? Or will it be a moderate like Giuliani?

I get the sense that a moderate will have difficulty in the primaries, but a conservative will have difficulty in the general election.

Try to keep it above-board and avoid insults.

  • Why do so many people on here say the Nazis were Socialist?

I have read this over and over again and it disturbs me. Is history being so poorly taught that people don't understand the difference between Fascism and Socialism?

Anyone who uses sladerous insults will be reported. I simply want to know why people seriously seem to think this falacy is true.

Here are some primers to use when answering:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascist

    and

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_party

(Note the word Socialist in the name of the party is NOT reflective of philosphy. Is this the basis for confusion?)

  • Are there any "Reagan Democrats" left?

Reagan was given credit for swinging a lot of voters to the other side. Many of those same voters voted for Clinton. They seemed to be divided in 2000 and 2004.

I saw an email on tv (from a viewer) from a Reagan Democrat who said he doesn't expect to vote for a Republican for a long time.

How do you think these vital swing voters will vote in 2006 and 2008?

NOTE: Serious answers only. Anyone tossing out insults as answers will be reported.

  • Did the Supreme Court open a can of worms?

When the Supreme Court upheld a good portion of the Texas redistricting plan, did they open a can of worms that will encourage all states to redistrict each time a party takes over their house?

I was surprised to find that law doesn't require waiting for the census for redistricting.

    What happens next?
