Do some people confuse Evolution with Serendipity?

Serendipity was a popular word forty years ago. It means people, places and things coming together in a good way. A 'happening'. The attitude I get from advocates of evolution is, 'Isn't it fortunate, the we humans found our way to the top of the food chain...aren't we glorious...?'

Wake up, that environment will eat you. I wasn't good luck that put you were you are, it was God...

Since this is a question, "Do you feel lucky?"

Update:

Yes, I confuse common sense with faith. Amen.

I would rather believe that I am blessed to be where I am today than to be skeptical of life. Why not live as though everything is a miracle?

Yeah, the environment is pretty tough on most modern humans. That's why we make our own environments! Ha! Damn we're good. Personally I'm quite proud of what we've accomplished as a race. We do a whole lot of things that the other species here couldn't dream of accomplishing. Wake up, we've adapted to our environment by changing it to suit us. It wasn't good luck that put us here, and it certainly wasn't god, it was us. We did it, with our own hands, piece by piece. Be proud of it.

I don't just feel lucky, I am lucky, fortunate and serendipitious, but that's just me and my view of my life at this particular point in time

Evolution is not an attitude, is based on scientific fact and observation.

Serendipity means "by chance." Neither those who believe in God, nor those who don't, believe anything happened by chance. Believers have faith that God created everything, and non-believers say it was science, or evolution.

Ask a paraplegic who understands basic science whether he feels evolution or divine design better explains his predicament.

I think you confuse faith with common sense.
