Is it illegal to propagate a plant you bought?
I'm not selling them I just want a few more for my yard.
While I was at a nursery today I couldn't find a plant that I wanted; an employee there told me it was very hard to find. I then said something about propgating another one and the owner of the nursery almost flipped her lid and told me "all plants are patented and it's illegal to propagate them unless you have a license to do so".
Something about that didn't sit right with me so I'm wondering if that's true. I'm sure you can patent a name, but can you patent a plant?

No -- propagate all you want. I don't think God would mind :)

The nursery owner forgot his meds this morning.
There are patented and restricted plants. Most are not.
If you no longer need to buy from the nursery owner his pocket suffers. Apparently he is willing to lie to help fill his own pocket. I would skip ever doing business with a dishonest business person. The dishonesty can affect the customer in so many ways. This one has already given you a "heads up" warning that he is dishonest.

You can propagate all you want. What if the plant does it on its own the owner is going to sue the plant. The owner is a silly person.

Some plants do have a patent on them. I use to manage a garden center. But who is going to know.

Once you buy a plant, you can propagate as many cuttings, from that plant, as your heart desires. There is absolutely nothing unlawful, in propagating a plant, that you own.

So, by the same logic, that employee really means that any seeds a plant or flower might produce are illegal to have, much less use. Whatever.

I propagate anytime I feel like it and so should you!!!LOLOLOL
Ask to see this persons license. If they don't have one just smile and say hummmm.
Besides the only difference between a weed and a flower is the price you pay!

First, marijuana does no longer reason techniques damage or lung optimal cancers. Diabetes, extremely? the position do you get this crap from? Are you a troll pretending to assist legalization of marijuana to make those who do help look stupid through association? 2d there are alot of theories as to why it maintains to be unlawful. Alot of them are fantastically loopy conspiracy theories which i'm no longer so certain about, yet i do not ignore that there is alot of lobbying to maintain marijuana unlawful from pharmaceutical agencies, the tobacco market, and the alcohol market. Partnership for a Drug free united statesa. operating social gathering, has fairly a history of receiving its funding from Budweiser. yet sure you're nicely perfect, there is not any reason marijuana will be unlawful, even if you heavily meant it or no longer.
