Does a color like new peach for your walls sound weird?

Well you probably have to break it up a little in order to make it look like a room and not a box of sherbet. You can do that by either:

1. Painting one wall a different color. Make that wall the focus point of the room (like if it has the fireplace in it or something like that).

2. break up the continuous peach color by adding paintings and shelves on the walls. That will create an illusion like the peach color is broken up, and not just one huge surface with one color.

3. Add accent colors like on the trim of windows and the ceiling.

Well, they tend to get a little over creative when they name paint, but the important thing is, do you like the color. Sometimes adding borders, window treatments, or even carpeting can tone down a loud color. You try experementing with different lighting also. Sometimes replacing regular light bulbs with florecent bulbs or natural light bulbs can help. If this isn't working, then take some scrap pieces of wood and paint them with any leftover paint. Then pick up different lighter shades and put a very thin coat over them with a small roller. Sometimes this helps you to find color combinations that you like more then the original orange sherbert. If you don't like it- and it sounds like you don't- then you'll want to break it up a bit. Try painting one of your walls a different color. You might even be able to creat a border that will lessen the 'bucket of sherbet' effect. You may want to even consider adding a different color trim.

I don't know what other colors are in your decorating scheme, but I would suggest both very dark and very light: Dark to offer contrast, and light to keep the place from feeling like it's trying to squeeze in on you.

No it's not weird, but it can be cloying. I did my hallways up and down in peach. But I striped the downstairs in a 6 inch stripe in a darker peach. That took care of that sherbet look you're not liking without having to repaint the whole thing--and it looked fabu!

not if it is contrasted with decoratives, put up a white moulding around the ceiling, or natural wood. you can also spondge on a tan color over the peach, and that will make it look less cheap or awkward.

If you like it, it does not matter even if it sounds weird to us or not. But if you really wanna know it does not sound weird to me.

i like the color peach if u like it then u should use that color.
