I don't know where you live but you don't have to go that far north. You can check out the wineries in Livermore. There are 35 of them in the area.

There is a small farm hostel connected to the state park, and I cannot recall the name right now, b ut it was like $15 bucks and a couple of hours with tasks on the site. Really beutiful, JuggHandle was the name of the place.... check it out

Go to the Russian River area in Sonoma County. You can rent private homes and cottages at decent prices. Most of these places have large property surrounded by the woods. The woods provide privacy. Most cottages have a private jacuzzi under the stars.
