Please answer this if you've had surgery to repair a torn tendon in your ankle. Was it really bad?

The one I'm having fixed is the Peroneal tendon. They are also going to break my heal bone to reset that and I have to be non weightbearing for 6-8 weeks.

i didn't tear a tendon in my ankle. i totally had it tore out of my body by a machine at work. That really hurt. But it was replaced with a steel cable surrounded by a silicone coating to mimic an achilles tendon. I also lost the bones from knee to ankle in the same accident. they were replaced with steel rods about the same size as the bones in my other leg. It took me almost a year to re-learn how to walk on my new parts, it really hurt, but now you can never tell that under my skin anything is different, but yes that hurt.
