India is a country of spectacular culture , Religion ( Hinduism) and people. We have festivals all year around, most celebrated ones are Diwali( Festival of lights) in last Qrtr, Dushera ( Festival of Win of Good over Evil ) 20 days before Diwali , Holi ( Festival of Colours) , Rakhi ( Day when every sis ties a thread in hands of her bro and pray for his long life and bro pledges for protection of her sis) and many to name them .

Diwali. This festival is celebrated in India since thousands of years. This marks the event thousands of years back when Lord Rama killed demon Ravana and returned to former's kingdom in Ayodhya. This marks victory of good over evil. On this festival Indian people illuminate their home and surrounding with small lamps. At night, the sky is lit up by fire crackers. People wear new clothes, distribute sweets. This festival brings people closer. Shopping is at its peak during this festival.

diwali..im a muslim but i still enjoy this festival cause u can probably compare it to the way Christmas is celebrated in the US.. Everyone is into Diwali and in the past couple of years people have really reduced bursting crakers and thats why ive begun to like it because everything is so lit up and cheerful besides we get a one month break from school..
