98 Chevy Malibu 2.4 liter Twin cam?
How can I tell if I bent some valves in this engine? The timing chain slip and the engine went out of timing. Anyone know of a way to verify that I didn't bend any valves? All answers from serious mechanics will be appreciated. Thanks for all inputs guys.

Thats a Chevy Silverado, 350 Turbo Hydromatic Drive. Even the mud flaps are clean. Much cleaner than your mouth.

2.4L quad four(eighth digit of vin is "T") is an interferance engine. which means that the valves will contact the pistons if the engine becomes out of time. IF you want to no for certain remove the front cover, use the old chain and retime the engine and do a compression test on the motor. the upper cams have holes in the sprockets that a 3/8" bolt will go through into the holes on the engine cover behind them(the holes should be in the down position) to hold them in place,the crankshaft sprocket has a timing mark on the gear that matches up with the engine case, and the tensioner is hyraulic it can be compressed until it locks than install with the engine in time and unlock it.

Put your new belt on and do a compression test
Thats the only way to be sure without taking off the heads
