you dont have to delete it from your itunes - just flip your ipod from automatic update to manually manage songs - then just hit delete from ipod and you will still have it in itunes just not on your ipod

You can't delete it from the Ipod per se...but what I do is hook my Ipod up to my computer and open it in Itunes. I create Playlists in Itunes for the songs I want on my Ipod. I "clear" the song I don't want from the Itunes playlist (but keep it in my library) and then remove that Playlist from my Ipod, and then I just reload that Playlist from Itunes without the songs I no longer wanted. Not sure if there's an easier way but this way works for me because I don't do the Automatic Updates.

No. Apple creates such awful product that they forgot to write a delete script for their iPod software. My suggestion to you is to write Apple, complain about the terrible product they sold you and put that Nano under the wheel of your bicycle and run over it a few times.
If you are still reading this, then you can always try option two.
Option 2.

Sure, you just plug your ipod into the computer and your play list will be available. You right click on a song to delete it.

Yes, take IPOD in hand, and throw at the ground as hard as you can!!
Ipods are worthless anyway. Get something from Creative Labs or something like that.

Well, when your music library pops up on your computer, then you can delete it. Either go to the music library or the playlist, right click it and click delete

Connect your I-pod to your computer. Open itunes and select your i-pod. Then you can delete the song there. good luck!

yes... you just have to delete it from your Library on iTunes and then plug in your iPod.
