Which type of grass. If you would mark an area in the grass you chose 6"x6" and count how many blades in that 1/4 sf. Then multiply the count ? x 4 x 43560 = ? # of blades per acre.

Standard k-31 fescue seed produces approx. 700 blades of grass per square foot. There are 43,560 sq ft to an acre. So, there are approx 30,492,000 blades of k-31 per acre. Other types of grasses would produce varying results.

It depends, is it just healthy soil or is thre crabgrass and weeds involved, is there sand in the soil which would thin the grassy area out.
