Bored w/ work need guidance.......?
I am bored at work w/ this task I was given 3 months ago. It is an ongoing thing and very very pointless. The goal of said task is to make see how many companies are not getting things we sent them. So far only 2 companies have not gotten something. This is out of over 350 companies.
The last time I was bored with work I joined the Marine Corps. Right now I have a sort of friendship with the #3 person. The number 1 isn't here alot. The #2 who delegated this isn't speaking up to #1 saying this is a waste of man hours.
I am not being challenged and it pisses me off. Should I mention this to #3 who has saaid this is a waste before. I want to do real work, not sit here making phone calls and begine bored to tears.
Oh there was another person helping me but he got another job. He went looking cause he was bored out of his mind too. I don't want to leave. Anyway when he left I had to take his workload onto mine. Now I am so swamped it's not even close to a giggle.
Now that I have his workload added to mine I feel more inclined tell someone this blows.
Oh forgot this..... I was almost caught up to the present day. That would mean I get to start working normally along w/ this. Then the guy left and I got his stuff now I am always 2 weeks behind. I cannot catch up because of the load.... grrr. VENTING.

The same type of situation occurred to me two years ago. I spent 2 years languishing under management that was not present most of the time, then supercritical when they were present. In addition, the work was redundant, and I sometimes repeated the same task as many as a dozen times, though each time yielded the same results. I spent a good deal of my time thinking of ways to leave the job, through education, resume postings, etc. That company refused to support my every educational attempt, because they felt it was not "in my career path". Who were they to decide what was best for me? Recently, I got up the courage to take a number of interviews, even flying on weeknights across the country to do face-to-face interviews after work. To make a long story short, I ended up landing my dream job, making 10K more than my current position, with a hefty relocation package (100% covered + extras), and most importantly, work that matters. I start my new job July 10th. I hope you get up the courage to explore out there too. I spent far too much time worrying about what I was doing at my stable, but boring job, and not enough time making a difference in my future. Good luck and good [job] hunting.

Sounds like you are in a rut. Join the club. I wish I could help you but I find myself in the same situation. Time for a change.

Just leave. But before you do, try and get another job or better still try and venture into what you have always wanted to do. It helps

look for another job but dont quit that one until you find something else... dont stay if you're truly not happy but dont fk yourself by cutting off your income.
