An open question for Christians.?
When we as, Christians are answering questions we would do well to remember that as Christians we are folowers of Jesus Christ.
The anger and foul language not only makes you look bad it makes Christianity look bad and reflects poorly on Jesus Christ.
We also need to remember what we were like before accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
I must admit that as a Christian Pastor I have been appaled at some of the answers that are given by those claiming Christianity.
That's my opinion, what's yours?

You are right! We need to give out the truth in Love as God would and try to bring each person to God. We must walk with these people who are broken and have them realize that they can have the same thing we have gained.
Vulgarity and hatred towards others embarasses God as well as hurts us, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ.
It is needed as in Mark Chapter 16 to spread the word of God to everyone. This spreading has to be done out of complete love for the world that is broken. No, we cannot become of the world or follow the world because if we do we will be turning on God and that is hatred towards Him (NOT GOOD!!!)
My brother, I am a christian of 2 years and in my two years I know very little, but what I do know is God loves me and wants to have a relationship with me. I know that I am broken and I need Him to guide me through each day or I will fall. I also know He made me so that I could make the choice to worship Him and come to Him with all my issues and problems. Nothing is too great for God. Amen Brother and have a blessed day!!!

You call yourself a Christian? Only a stupid, f??king, atheistic moron could ask such a question! There is fire in Hell waiting for the likes of you!!!
...
... ah, now I feel SO much better.
Of course we need to watch our language. But there is that model of "I am all things to all men that I may win some ...". If a little heartfelt profanity can speak directly to those frustrated or previously misled by a religious experience in the past, then open up the bombbay doors and drop those F-bombs! Isn't this the whole theory behind the whole "addict as witness" theatre we see time and time again? Street smarts, yunno mate - kinda like the GEICO gekko? So, I look at profanity as an occasional language tool, god damn it!
Second, some people's notion of doctrine would put L.Ron Hubbard to shame! But this IS just Yahoo! Answers. Given the setting, and the lack of credentials, I'm pleased by the number of well prepared, and "maturely walked" answers. As a lay person, there are lots of horror stories out there of "schooled" preachers saying the most monstrous and false things in an effort to councel or evangilize. There IS a lot of nonsense here ... but its great some people with some sense and spiritual wisdom pop in and offer their sentences. Its Yahoo!, dude!! - lighten up!!!
So, that's my opinion - now shut the h?ll up with your Liberace questions and get back to answering the way you are supposed to!
lol ...
Best to you ...

And how many awful questions have you read putting down our Lord? And how do you feel about that? I truly believe that it is evil personified, simply trying to stir up hatred, doubt, and anger, but we are talking about defending our God. Yes that is worth the good fight. And yes, it could be accomplished in a more dignified manner.
And honestly, are you always so docile, and complete in your faith, that some of these continuous questions, by the same People, don't at times, make you want to reach through the screen and strangle them, just long enough to get their attention?
You would also know that we are not perfect.

As a Minister of the Gospel with a church and with a Jail Ministry, I too have been discouraged at how easily many "noun-Christians" (those that have to TELL you they are Christians because you could never tell by their actions, words, etc.) have forgotten where Jesus pulled them from. When I think of the alcohol, drugs, sex, rock music, etc. that I came from, and to see the majesty of "my Lord and my God" when I look at myself in the mirror, I cannot help but try and help others with questions. I strive to be a "verb-Christian" (those that show their Christianity in their actions, words, etc.). I totally agree with you that when we answer someone's questions, we need to be careful not just WHAT we say, but HOW we say it. Remember who we are an ambassador for... May the Lord Bless and Keep You, and as always, Dedicated to the Harvest!!!

Hello beloved brother apmresearch@... :)
Yes, we must not forget from where we have come from..when we have, we have lost our first Love, and must ask the Lord for forgiveness.. :)
Some of the Answers are not coming from Christians..some are just posing as us, trying to hurt others of the Faith..but Greater is He Who is in me, than he that is in the world..Amen!!
God is Good All the Time.. :)

It's so nice to hear from another pastor on this subject. I totally agree with you. I have always told people in my congregation that we MUST present ourselves well in society. If we present Jesus Christ well then we will present ourselves well. As Christians we MUST exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit namely "Self-Control!"

I totally agree with you. As christians we have to remember there are many who watch us and listen to everything we say and judge us on those facts. I have heard many times people say" I thought he/she was a so called christian, that is why I don't go to church". It breaks my heart when I hear those words, because I often wonder if that person was on the verge of trying to find God and the behavior of some christian may have thwarted it.

The Lord has given freely. So we should respect every person opinions and answers. That is the true Christian Spirit to accept every one as they are, as GOD has forgiven us no matter who we are.

That's less a question and more a loophole to tell off the other Answerers. And it's "appalled."

I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion and have thought the same thing. Thank you so much for the reminder!
