Why are you considered a child at 12 to smoke, but an adult at 12, on the bus,at the movies or in restaurants?

Ok well i think that restaurants charge more because a child starts to eat more about that age. I think they are still children and if they are boys they will be children forever. Lol my hubby is 23 and i still think he is a child i wish i could pay kid prices for him lol. Yes i do think that 12 is a little young for many things but you know if you think about it 16 is driving age well here in texas at least. So i mean they grow up sometime now how or who gets to determine what gets to get paid for what is not up to us money hungry people get that choice.

Yes your a kid but business is money .And the law state age 18 and 21 for Adult things . Business feel your have a choice to go there or not and pay their price . I once ordered a kids dinner at the restaurant .The waitress said " you can't that only for kids" Well , long story short , I got the dinner at that size and price , I notice , new menu states 8 years or younger now . Bus feels your Adult size by 12 and take the room , even if a lady pays for herself and 3 free kids take more room ? But many things are not fair or justified in life .Simply answered your a kid and hope you don't smoke , I tried to quit 4 times , horrible drug , but a drug so easy to get , walk to a store . Save on movies by getting friends together and rent DVDs .It would be cheaper and fun !

Smoking, Drinking or many other things are things that can alter your life and actually a person should be able to mentally understand and make decisions about. People charge your 12 year old as an adult because they take an adults space and seat therefore they charge them as an adult. Is it right or the same? That depends on whom you ask, whether or not it's the provider of the service of the parent who knows they aren't an adult yet. Either way it's a money issue with the providers and usually it's because they either consume an adults amount or take the same space as an adult would.

Children

But after 12 most children have adult sized bodies, they can eat like adults and dont need to order from the kids menu at restaurants.

The movies I dont understand. A 12 year old cannot see a PG13 or R rated movie without an adult, they shouldnt have to pay the adult price.

But each establishment has a right to set its own rules.

Smoking hurts you..Why smoke, to be cool???You know I had about 70 recruits come into the navy seals and after the first day I could tell you every one that smoked..Would you eat poison to see what happens,well your doing the same thing by smokeing..Guess when people say your to young to smoke, they love you enough to try to stop you..A 12 year old is still only a child .. nomatter how big they are or who charges there for what ever...I dont think they say adult prices I beleive it FULL price... LOL ROB

YOu are NOT considered an adult on the bus or movies.....your body size is that of an adult. Your mind is that of a young child. Remember 12 is a little child. Not an adult. But a little kid.

I would defiantely consider them children still, but cutting off the free or cheaper fair prices keeps the companies from losing money. All businesses are out there to make money, and restaurants and movie theatres are no different.

12 and smoke? You arent saying that a 12 yo should be able to smoke right?

Generally a business sets whatever policy it wants to, as far as what age groups to charge what.

twelve year loda are adolescents. you as a parent still need to supervise their behavior for their good and the good of society.

certain behaviors such as smoking drinkig etc.. can be self destructive and there are rules and laws to govern their use.as a society we attempy

t to protect our young ,therefore the age restriction.

It is a money making thing for movie theaters and restaurants. Smoking and drinking are bad for you,so that is why they restrict it.
