This has to fall under the category of fearing what we do not know. Will I be happy? Why am I here? Will I find true love? Men have fought wars and crossed oceans trying to find answers to these questions. Great books have been written elaborating on the subjects. In our time, we still go to great lengths to find answers to these questions. We still fight wars, we still travel great distances and we still write a bunch of stuff we hope people will read. But could we be avoiding the real important issues because they are uncomfortable-because they encroach on our bubbles. Sometimes things that seem uncomfortable are just what we need. Maybe not, but you'll never know until you try. Being loved and respected may be what we really want, but it is hard to admit or even request. Passing up rare opportunities leads to a lifetime of regret. There are unseen forces at work in nature like magnetism, gravity and smell. Why do some animals mate for life? How do they know who is the right one? Something tells them.
Could it be that something similar exists in humans. Once in a while we run across that irresistible person. The idea may seem a little uncomfortable, and we may not know the reason why, but it doesn't change the fact that they are still irresistible. The way I see it, there has to be a good reason why. Definitely worth researching.

The desire to achieve and succeed and grow and become something more is usually in direct conflict with my "comfort zone". Yet I am still compelled to explore the possibilities. When I don't make the effort to expand my comfort zone I miss so many opportunities. But, of course, there is a reason they call it the comfort zone. When I step out of what I am used to I don't know what to expect and it can be very unsettling. But so far it has worked out pretty well. I've learned to try new things that require a little leap of faith. If I don't at least try I disappoint myself, I don't like that feeling. I've learned that I can do things I didn't think I could. And usually I have fun trying. Or, at the least, nobody ate me alive. And my comfort zone has expanded.

YES !!!!! A true, sincere, deeply involved spiritual quest is quite NORMALLY very very uncomfortable and yet terribly irresistible !
Good that you asked this... Many eager 'heads' are likely to turn around and take a serious 'second' look before they get 'hooked'.
Thanks for this question.

just about everything thats irresistable is uncomfortable in one way or another. high heels, tight pants, sex, fatty foods, tattoos and peircings. . . i guess its true . . . no pain, no gain. uncomfortable things are so irresistable because they're always the things that make you look or feel the best for some reason. sux a$$

If one lacks confidence in themselves they will be unable to resist the uncomfortable pressures from external influences. Indeed the less internal confidence the more irresistible external things become.

Hello dear!
Most of our moves are dictated by nature/ instincts!
Thus, we might feel very uncomfortable eating, drinking, loving, etc., a lot, but we proceed in doing them since they are "elevating" us!
So, most of "Natural" activities are "hurting" us, or at least are uncomfortable, but they design the way of our activities and lives!
Also, who says that the aim of our lives is towards comfort? Most our lives we are after some kind of creative ideas which initially do not show to be comfortable, but we are willing to go for them, irrespective of our sacrifices!
