On a fighter jet, they can last to 20-80 landings.

On a commercial airplane like a 737, they usually get changed when the 2 central grooves have disappeared on more than 10 cm or when the tyre gets damaged. Tyres rarely last more than 800 cycles (T-O and landing) before they get revised.

I'm not sure about tyres but I once went out with an aircraft mechanic who told me that very often he would be halfway through tightening up bolts on a passenger plane when he had to stop what he was doing as the plane had to leave immediately! He said he often used to just keep his fingers crossed that the bolts didn't come loose during flight! It was just luck half the time that there were no accidents from this. Planes have to leave on time and thats that!

Just like with your car, when the tire reaches a certain level of wear. Again, just like your car, that will depend on how much you use the plane. Airliners and military planes used daily change tires more often than privately owned planes. The 800 cycles mentioned by the young lady above is about right, assuming no "road hazard" damage. We change the tires on our plane about once a year.

Pay an toddler's fare and e book the more suitable seat in develop. do not assume it being accessible or offered on the gate. this can help you carry the baby's carseat onboard it extremely is a lot safer than taking him on your lap, extremely on a puddle-jumper the position you sense the turbulence a lot extra strongly than on a large jetliner. This also leaves your fingers loose to amuse and have a tendency to the baby if he receives fussy. Planes are flying complete extra many times than no longer so the probabilities that there'll be an more suitable seat on a small-potential airplane at the instantaneous are not all that strong. and that i fairly have seen children bounce from their moms' fingers in hard air even as they were no longer restricted, on 2 distinct flights very last three hundred and sixty 5 days on my own. One baby struck his head on the leg of the seat in the front of him so complicated that all of us on the airplane ought to listen it. toddler seats are frequently a lot more low-priced than individual seats; no longer well worth risking your baby's safe practices purely to sidestep dropping funds.

Depends on the aircraft. On Jaguars (see pic) they're changed if the tread is worn away, if they get contaminated with fuel (damages rubber) or if they're under-inflated (undue stress). Generally, it's about once a month.

each aircraft tire has a designated service life but if it shows signs of excessive wear, structural breakdown or dry rot it must be changed immedately to avoid a catostrophic failure. These criteria are subjective.
