I think Rail is probably right, it sounds like a buffering problem.

It could be one of many things but it's most likely to be that your Internet connection isn't fast enough to play the file whilst it is downloading. Try ensuring that you aren't downloading anything else whilst your trying to watch / listen to your file.

If your sure your Internet connection is OK try making sure that you have enough RAM to help the buffering process along, shut down any memory gobbling programs you have running to see if that helps.

It could also be that your computer's CPU can't keep up with processing the file, try taking a look at what other CPU intensive programs might also be running and shut them down.

The best way of monitoring what kind of CPU usage / Memory usage your programs are getting through is to use Task Manager on windows XP type platforms, you can bring this up by pressing Ctrl, Alt, Delete.

Note: Don't close down any application unless you are sure that closing it won't harm your computer!

  • You may need to update your version of the player, could be the type of connection you have or the files my be corrupt from your downloading source. You should try to derangement & clean up old files on your computer via your control pannel - performace & maintenance.

It's just buffering. Streaming video has to download with a codec, causing it to pause for a period of times or two

your connection might be to slow to stream the media at its current quality. You could wait for it to load a bit and then watch or listen to it.
