i mean, how reliable is this lip-reading brazilian?? I would argue you need more than one opinion to make an educated hypothetical guess as to what materazzi really said. all i know is that what materazzi said to zidane was both provocative and is alleged to have been a racial slur.

I think it is pathetic that they would get people who have the ability to read lips over something as inconsequential as a soccer game. I love soccer and Zidane. What he did was wrong but I think it was fully provoked and I would want to see proof of this before I believe it.

Zidane wanted to loose the game for France. That's all.

There's insults in Italian that involve your mom and your sister. Just like "son of a b****" in English. Granted, it isn't classy to use them, but a world class player and a team captain shouldn't have reacted like that. Plus, he lived in Italy for a while when he played for Juventus, so I'm sure he understands some Italian idioms, and he knows that they are idioms -- not to be taken too personally.

Give me a break, , soccer players are constantly cursing one another out on the field. there is no excuse for what Zidane did.

no matter what he said, he should have kept his temper, like sarah said, footballers swear all the time, i doubt that materazzi's curse was worse than the average football curse.

Wat ever be the case, it was his last time as a player in the field out there..and with all the world viewing it that would have not been the correct response...it the differences could have been solved afterwards....
