Brutal Truth....?
Do you know? Do you ever think about this? Those who are living right now on this planet are going to die in just another 100 years. And all new peoples replace us all. NO ONE of us will survive. We all are temporary visitors for this Planet. Why are we fighting with each other on religions and other topics when we know that we are not going to live here more than 100 years?
Nothing is ours here. Even our body is not ours. It is given by God just to travel; it is just a vehicle for us. Cant we live peacefully when we have very limited period in our hand.

Yes....I know. That is why we should all get along...and not abuse the planet. Our future generations kinda need it to survive.

Yes I think about this occasionally but I don't dwell on it because although I may only have another 25-30 years here (Ihope!), afterwards I go to a better place with no hatred and war. This is just the opinion of a believer. I assume non-believers think there's nothing after this part of life, but the fighting will also be over for them so they'll be at peace too. My grandmother told me years ago that this life is just a hiccup in the greater scheme of things, which makes sound sense to me

Most of us feel the urge to propagate our ideas and/or our genetic code, to build something that will last longer than our own lifespans; this may mean establishing a familial dynasty, building a monument, writing a book, promoting one's religious beliefs, et al. We compete with each other for the opportunity to leave a legacy. Why take the impermanent nature of life lying down? We propagate ourselves because it's the only game in town...

Unfortunately, not everyone shares your view and therein lies the problem. We have the propensity to fight with even our most dearly beloved, so is it any suprise we don't always get on? We should all follow the example of the greatest Man ever to live. Jesus. Whatever you believe He was - if we all chose to live by His principles we would be living in the Kingdom of God. It would be the veritable Utopian society. And it is so simple; love God and love your neighbour.

The real brutal truth is that there is no objectibe truth. Everything is a human creation and as such has no inherent value other than what we give it. Everything is equally absurd, and nothing is preferable to anything else.
