What happened to Mike Tyson?

I havent heard anything about what hes been up to after his ear biting fiasco.

Is he still boxing? Is he pretty much a deadbeat now?

Whats the 411 on the guy right now?

Update:

I'm hoping someone has seen him on TV or something and knows more detail. I don't trust the crap they put on the internet. They are all gossip and I can look that up anytime. Has anyone actually seen him boxing lately?

Mike Tyson was a great fighter in the 80s. He better not still be boxing. :)

After the Holyfield fiasco, Tyson did get another title shot in 2002 but was stopped by Lennox Lewis in the 8th. He didn't really have much of a chance going into the fight, though. The match was only made because so much money could be made off of the Tyson name.

He said he'd retire after the loss to Lewis but ended up getting back in the ring to pay some of his debts. Unfortunately, after knocking out Clifford Etienne he lost two straight fights - an embarrassing KO loss to Danny Williams in July 2004 and an even more embarrassing TKO loss to Kevin McBride in June 2005. In that last fight, McBride was picked as an opponent because he was much bigger although he wasn't a ranked fighter. Tyson wasn't doing that bad, but he was obviously having trouble with the guy and didn't come out of his corner for the seventh round. Pretty much everyone was disappointed in him for quitting, and I'm suprised you never heard about that. Mike offered his official retirement after the fight was over.

For a little while after that, he went on a world tour making some money by making public appearances. I heard he was refereeing on the MMA circuit recently but never saw any of that myself. And Mike's supposed to be back doing commentary for the Rahman vs. Maskaev fight, which I'm pretty interested in hearing since he used to do great commentary, but it's hard to tell how well he'll do now that his heart is no longer in the game.
