    Same reason the numbers pad has numbers opposite of the numbers on a phone...

    Or why we park on driveways and drive on parkways...

    Or why things sent by sea are called cargo but things sent by land are called shipments...

    Or why does sour cream have an expiration date...

    None of it makes sense
