Has anyone else had this happen?

I have two beautiful little girls 5 and 1 both with my husband. He has a son from an earlier relationship. Anyway our two girls were both born with clefts that were not detected during the term. After the first was born we lost a child 18 mts later and never knew why, and concived or youngest 18 mts after that. The dr's said there was onlly a 3% chance of having another with a cleft. We had any and all test run including going to a specilist, nothing was found, but she too was born with a cleft and required surgery. If anyone else has been through a similar situation please tell me what happen' to you and your family and how you delt with it.

I have not ever been through that but i can tell you that my sister was born with cleft lip and palette. She is now a happy and perfectly healthy 19 year old with everything going for her. So just keep your heads up your daughters are going to be great.

Did they do a genetics test where they look at your DNA chromosomes and stuff? Normally they can detect that by looking at your chromosomes. I'm sorry to hear about that. I hope your family lives strong and well. God be with you and your family.
