Godfather 2
The Empire Strikes Back
Spider-Man 2
This reminds me of the bit in Scream 2 when some of the characters are in the film class talking about this very subject. Of course, Spidey hadn't flung a web on the silver screen yet, so Spidey-2 wasn't mentioned. But Terminator 2 was and Sarah Michelle Gellar had a memorable remark to show her disagreement (that I can't print here). Also, Empire was brought up and Jamie Kennedy's character said it didn't count because it was part of a planned trilogy (trilogy at the time, anyway). But when Godfather 2 came up, everyone just said, "Ah" and agreed. It was an especially funny moment to be talking about sequels and how they suck in a sequel.

Terminator 2 is the greatest sequel of all time. It made the original look like crap...Terminator 2 was a movie you could fall in love with as a kid. You didnt need to see the original teminator becuz part 2 was jsut great with in itself. T 3 was garbage though. I hated how did finished off the franchise.

You have a point though, most sequels are crap. In fact some are so crap they make me end up hating the original.

Also, Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom was better than the original Indiana Jones.

Although I loved Alien, I think Aliens is more exciting. I thought Harry Potter 2 and 4 were the best out of the series.
