Marlboro Cigarettes Store Clerk Question?

To all store clerks: When a Customer only asks for Marlboro, why do you have to ask whether its menthol, medium, 100's, lights or ultra lights. Marlboro is Marlboro, pure and simple.

For those people that ask for Marlboro and really want a variation of it, they should be told that us store clerks are not mind readers.

Be specific of what you ask for.

Why do the rest of us have to suffer for other peoples mistakes?

To avoid ambiguity you should address the convenience store clerk in the following manner: I would like a right rectangular prism shaped pack of Marlboros, and I mean the one that comes in the pack where approximately 75% of the pack is white, and there is a chevron on the package above which the pack is a solid red color except for a white strip that says "filter cigarettes". Below the chevron you will find the Marlboro emblem. Say these few, descriptive words and you will get what you seek every time.

their are at least 5 different kinds of Marlboro cigarettes, reds, mild, 100's, etc.... if you want the plain old Marlboro say "Marlboro reds in a box." Cashiers cant read peoples minds and we need to let them know exactly what kind of cigarettes we want.

technically, smoky, you should be asking for Marlboro Reds. that is what the clerk is waiting to hear. since the majority of smokers using that brand smoke Marlboro Light (according to marketing brand research) perhaps YOU should be more specific.

actually when I worked at a store and someone just asked for Marlboros, my question was, "Box or soft pack?"

I'm not a store clerk but that gets on my nerves too. Good Question.

I think the easiest thing would be if they just stopped smoking. Do something more productive like raise cattle and ship them over to Africa or visit old people in old age homes and bath their feet.
