unless the jeep is in excellent shape it might not be worth doing, on average in arkansas it cost about 500 and up , the highest ive seen was 1200 but that was for a front wheel drive car. and it also depends where you take it. of course the dealership is outragous

It shouldn't take more than 5 or 6 hours to remove the transmission and replace the rear main oil seal. The seal will cost 20 - 40 dollars and the rest depends on the labor rate of the facility you take it too. If you have access to a hydrolic jack and a few tools you could probably do it yourself. It's not too hard, just tedious!

rear main seal is an easy job, its the front that sucks to do.Buy some tools and do it yourself.
