What's the best area to live in North Carolina?
I'm looking to relocate and found that N. Carolina may be the place for me, any suggestions as to where I should go visit first? Preferrably an area that's affordable, I'm not a rich or wealthy city guy.

I am a NC native. Going by your question, I am also assuming your not a country boy either. So in my opinion the best places to live in NC are Charlotte or the Raleigh/Durham area. It is the best place for jobs, schools ( don't know if you have kids are not, Raleigh is best for schools), entertainment, shopping etc. I don't know if you are looking at apartments, condos, or homes, but you can get them a a reasonable cost. Hope this helps.

WILMINGTON all the way! It is the best coastal small town atmosphere. That is where I am from. The only thing personally is too many obnoxious Yankee's bitching about the heat and everything else! God I really hate that! Sorry to offend anyone but truthfully.... ask any true blooded southerner. I would not move up North to save my life!

Anywhere! I live close to Greensboro, NC
Charlotte is good if you are young and into the social scene but it's pretty expensive to live there so you need a really good job
Raleigh is a nice place to live as well.
Winston Salem is pretty good as well
Wilmington if you love the beach.
Where I live I can go to the mountains or the beach.
Take your pick! NC Rocks!!!
