Honestly why is POT illegal?

When heroin, marijuana, opium, and other drugs became illegal, work was tight. Here were all these immigrants taking over jobs white people could have. So, in order to have work when work was scarce, the DEA was formed to bring new jobs to white people while eliminating colored workforces so those jobs could be given to "true Americans."

Think about it. What is the drug of choice for Latinos? Marijuana, an illegal drug. The choice for Asians? Opium, an illegal drug. The choice for Native Americans? Peyote, an illegal drug. The choice for white people? Tobacco, a perfectly legal drug. There is bias.

Now think about the implications that would occur if drugs were to be made legal. How many jobs would be lost? Makes you think.

Pot can be taxed. It can be manufactured and sold in stores. Buy a pack of joints or a can of pot. You could buy it just like tobacco. Age restrictions and driving restrictions must be placed. Before you say pot could be grown, booze can be made at home and tobacco can be grown as well. The difference is that the lazy people who do not feel like growing pot plants can just get their happy hineys to the store and get a pack of joints.

Because back in the early 20th century they had to blame the higher crime rate and corruption on society on sumthing and somone so the conversatives starting blaming it on blacks and latinos. They made claims that all increasing violence and murders and raping were caused by high latinos and blacks from the inner cities and rural farm (mexicans would grow it) communities where. And so they came out with videos showing how pot lead to ppl killing off thier whole families and going insane.Which is total bs. Pot is harmless...It cant kill you...mite actually may u think outside da box more and realize things u had no idea about before. It gibs u an appreciation of art and music and da natural beauty of things around you. It does in fact make u think. It does make you lazy but does make you realize rationalize and think things more cleary. As long as you do not try and i repeat DO NOT TRY other more dangerouse drugs like cocaine and heroine and crack i dont see why it cant be legalized. Pot WILL be legal someday i guarantee that especially with the young generation who is more open minded and wasnt brought up wit those close minded consevative views. But i think ill happen when the college generation of rite now has the power in another 15- 20 yyeas maybe even sooner.

Pot makes you lazy.(which isn't a bad thing) Not as many people would join the Armed Forces if pot was legal. Nevada has come close to making pot legal. And if pot became legal pretty soon other drugs would too. I myself am all for pot being legalized, but nothing else.

I have the answer, seriously.

Long ago hemp (marijuana) was used to make paper, better quality than from trees actually. If pot or hemp was legal, it would be cheaper, better for the environment and better quality paper, but the paper companies would be out of business. So they have huge bucks to lobby against the legalization of pot.

I think it's because most voting Americans don't like pot. It's like how in the 30's Prohibition started because women (yes, I am one) got the right to vote and they outlawed alcohol first thing. If the voters were for it, it would be legal. And it would be hard for the govt to control it, so there isn't any rush to make it legal.

the story goes that in the south they started making drugs, marajuana one of the first, illegal because it was thought that it caused black people to rape white women. At first only blacks were prosecuted for posession of illegal substances, but then the anti-drug movement kept growing until it is the "war on drugs" as coined by Ronald Reagan.

Because it to easy to grow and harvest, therefor the government could not regulate as with alcohol...I have noticed people don't get violent when they have smoked pot

First of all Marijuana can't kill you unless you lace the product with pcp or rat poision. It's illegal because it's a hard drug to tax.I find nothing wrong with it at all. Marijuana actually improves a persons eyesight by 2.6%

Because the marijuana growers don't give as much money to congress as the tobacco and alcohol industries.

Because its too hard for the government to tax.
