I agree with cold turkey, but not in the way it was previously used to be punny.

I cannot say if there is an easy method. There are some that take less willpower than others. I guess that would be easier. Other answers will probably tell you that. Also search Yahoo!Answers under smoking and you will get plenty of other advice as this question gets asked about once a week or more.

From me, I would suggest you change your eating habits to those that address the reason your body demands that you smoke, which may be a blood sugar imbalance. Seriously! Some of the reading I have done due to my diabetes suggests that the body gets addicted to substances to survive a chronic low blood sugar condition. That is where the other kind of cold turkey comes in. If you eat some protein (including cold turkey, or soy if you are vegetarian) every time you get a craving for a cigarette. And a bit of low glycemic carbohydrate, or nuts (almonds or peanuts) it is supposed to help cut the craving.

You may want to check out www.hufa.org to see some basic information on blood sugar imbalances both high and low.

Just don't light a cigarette anymore. You don't need much "willpower". Since you quit, you will realize that every hour, every day, you will feel much better. You body will have more energy. You will feel stronger and happier. You will start tasting food differently. You will breath better. All of your senses will improve. You will be better fit to walk, run. You won't be scared anymore to go up the stairs ..

The point is that quitting smoking will not mean any suffering to you. On the contrary, you will enjoy it. It is one of the best experiences you can live (The non-smokers can never experience it!!).

You will feel so much energy entering your body. You will feel younger. Hour after hour, day after day... You will only have to control this energy. You can go to the gym, do some jogging, whatever, and at the same time, you will improve your physical shape.

After 3 weeks, you won't feel that "something is missing" anymore. Then, it's gone.

    Enjoy it :-)

Smoking will in fact cause you to suffer from erectile problems by the time you are in your late thirties. My man could not stop either, so I made him a deal. For every day that he is able to live through without a smoke, I would give him oral satisfaction, and let him blow his load instead of his smoke.... Well he cheated and smoked afterwards. That was the end of my efforts to help him stop. He died, you know..... Not here anymore, so if your woman can assist you, let her know

That is the only way you are going to be able to do it. I quit smoking on August 17,2005. You just have to decide that enough is enoungh. Don't light up that first one in the morning, brush your teeth every time you start to get the urge to light one up. Empty all the ash trays and put them away. Out of sight out of mind.

    Good luck to you!!

Source(s): My own experience, I quit in a house full of smokers.

You have to really want to quit. If you have any doubts it won't work. It won't happen overnight. Cut down until your only smoking a couple packs per week. It worked for me and its been 15 years. Good luck!!!

I think cold turkey is best. My friend swears by the patch and he is a heavy smoker. He hasn't smoked for two months now. Eventually you will find what best works for you.

you just have to control your self everytime you see someone smoking...also if you were influenced by someone you should think before you act...
