I <3 the movie.
Peter Gibbons: So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.
Dr. Swanson: What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Dr. Swanson: Wow, that's messed up.
LOL. =)

You are so right, just the office atmosphere sometimes reminds me of that movie too.
When I cant find my stapler, I think of the big guy that mumbles about his stapler.
When we have deadlines for reports, I think about "Yeahhhh, Im gonna need those TPS reports first thing in the morning".
I think its odd, but the time it came out does describe how a lot of larger companies were cutting back on jobs, and this movie mocks fun at those corporate jerks who boss everyone around ended up losing out in this movie...and the little guy coming out on top... That is the irony of the movie, too.
And oh, my husband's favorite part is about making the "O" face...& he mentions that sometimes and everybody laughs.
One of my favorites.

Yes, that movie was spot on for so many office environments; there are so many great scenes and lines, but I always liked Milton mumbling, "I'm gonna burn the place to the ground" to himself, or the "The Nazis had flair - but they made the Jews wear it." I'm not anti-semitic, but I've also had to labor under those stuuuupid buttons and nametags, so I felt her pain.

It has it's moments, but it's kind of slow. It wouldn't have the following it does if Comedy Central didn't play it non-stop for 5 years.

Oh it's awesome.
Michael Bolton: If we get caught, we're not going to white-collar resort prison. No, no, no. We're going to federal POUND ME IN THE *** prison.
Milton Waddams: The ratio of people to cake is too big.
Also pretty much anything Bill Lumbergh says.

"I've got a meeting with the Bobs."
Believe it or not, I have the Bobs working next door to me now. The second Bob showed up about 3 weeks ago and we've been laughing about it ever since.

That movie was hysterical, here are a few of my favorite quotes
Lumbergh: "Um... I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in tomorrow. So if you could be here around 9:00, that would be great. Mm-kay? Oh, oh, and I almost forgot. Uh, I'm also gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday too, 'kay? We, um, lost some people this week and uh, we need to sort of play catch-up. Thanks."
Milton: "But then they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler. But I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler."
Peter: "Okay, Milton."
Milton: "And, oh, no, it's not okay because if they make me-- if they-- If they take my stapler then I'll-- I'll have to-- I'll set the building on fire."
Lumbergh: "Hi, Milton. What's happening?"
Milton: "I'm sorry?"
Lumbergh: "Um, I'm going to have to ask you to go ahead and move your desk again."
Milton: "Eh-- What? No."
Lumbergh: "So, if you could go ahead and get it as far back against that wall as possible, that would be great."
Milton: "No, no, because I was-- I was told I no longer to move my desk--"
Lumbergh: "That way, we'll have some room for some of these boxes and things we need to put in here."
Milton: "There 's no room."
Lumbergh: "And, uh-- Oh. Oh, there it is."
Milton: "What? If--"
Lumbergh: "Here, let me just go ahead and get that from you. (Lumbergh takes his stapler)"
Milton: "Mm!"
Lumbergh: "So, if you could just get to that as soon as possible, that would be terrific. Mm-kay? Thanks a bunch, Milton."
Milton: "But--"
Lumbergh: "Good-bye."
Milton: "Well, okay, but, I could set the building on fire."
Peter: "Hello?"
Anne : "Peter, what's going on?"
Peter: "Huh?"
Anne: "It's 3:30, why aren't you at work?"
Peter: "Because I-- I-- I didn't feel like it."
Peter: "I, uh, don't like my job, and, uh. I don't think I'm gonna go anymore."
Joanna: "You're just not gonna go?"
Peter: "Yeah."
Joanna: "Won't you get fired?"
Peter: "I don't know. But I really don't like it and, uh, I'm not gonna go."
Joanna: "So, you're gonna quit?"
Peter: "Nuh-uh. Not really. Uh-- I'm just gonna stop going."
Peter: "So, you gonna get another job?"
Joanna: "I don't think I'd like another job."
Peter: "Well, what are you going to do about money and bills and--"
Joanna: "You know, I've never really liked paying bills. I don't think I'm gonna do that, either."

I love it when they smash the fax machine. I have been so tempted to do that with a fax, computer, copier, etc.
There are so many funny lines in that movie.
